Sure, she’s got the experience (12+ years and counting), the credentials (Advanced Certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor), and a knack for problem-solving that would make even Sherlock proud. But what really sets her apart is her approachable style and ability to make even the most daunting of spreadsheets manageable. Whether it’s untangling month-end reconciliations, managing payroll, or tackling the world of accounts payable and receivable, she’s got it covered. Melissa’s accounting career had an unconventional start. While working as a receptionist at a veterinary hospital, she became curious about what made the financial side of things tick. This curiosity turned into a passion, leading her to pursue an accounting degree. She started at Portland Community College and wrapped up at Portland State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a minor in Criminology, proving numbers and solving mysteries are absolutely her thing.

- Melissa originally planned to be a writer before accounting lured her in. Maybe one day we’ll read her mystery novel set in an accounting firm.
- She’s a die-hard Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan from childhood, and the Scarlet Witch is her favorite superhero.
- Her nickname as a kid was “Peaches” because she was obsessed with the fruit as a toddler.
- A trip to Greece is at the top of her bucket list. Ancient ruins, mythology, and history? Getting there is only a matter of time.
