Meet Stephen Dabasinskas, the financial expert every business owner dreams of having in their corner. With more than 25 years of experience as a CFO, Stephen has dedicated his career to helping businesses not just survive but thrive. His knack for solving financial puzzles combined with his hands-on, results-driven approach makes him the trusted advisor businesses need to grow, adapt, and succeed. And while financial strategy is his bread and butter, Stephen’s approachable style proves that not all finance pros wear pinstripes.
At Primetrics, Stephen serves as a Fractional CFO, providing small to mid-sized businesses with the kind of high-level financial leadership typically reserved for bigger companies. Whether it’s overcoming cash flow challenges, strategic planning, or preparing for a major business transition, Stephen knows how to bring clarity to the complex. He is passionate about creating financial roadmaps that align with his clients’ goals and set them up for sustainable success.
Stephen’s career is a mix of big moves and hands-on experience. He got his start during the dot-com boom, honing his skills in long-term planning and scaling growth. Later, he dove into international finance and compliance at a private investment trust. For 25 years, he led his own consulting firm, helping businesses across industries like manufacturing, retail, and e-commerce while also owning and running companies himself. He holds a degree in economics with a minor in law & society from UC San Diego.

- Stephen once served as an off-ice NHL official. While he didn’t dole out checks or score goals, he did master the art of knowing where the puck is at all times, which, oddly enough, also comes in handy during financial strategy reviews.
- Stephen has completed four marathons, an achievement reached by just 0.0004% of the U.S. population.
- The Diary of a CEO is Stephen’s go-to podcast. Always learning, even in his downtime!
- When Stephen was a child, he had visions of being a professional athlete when he grew up. He did become both a professional advisor and an athletic adult, so we’ll call that mission accomplished.

He’s an avid hiker, exploring hidden trails and soaking in the natural beauty that surrounds his Camas, WA, home. A self-proclaimed craft beer aficionado, Stephen loves discovering new breweries. He also enjoys spending time with his family whether it’s at a family get together or cheering on their favorite sports teams.
